Effective Therapy for couples

Helping couples communicate and create a new beginning

“it used to be so easy for us to talk.”

“i’m not really sure what happened.”

“we are struggling.”

you love each other, but it feels like things don’t need to be so hard.

It’s a tough place to be.

You argue more often than before. The joy and simplicity present at the beginning of your relationship have faded and are more often replaced by ever-intensifying feelings of disappointment and frustration.

There have been significant conflicts from time to time, but the ongoing, smaller disagreements are really starting to accumulate. Although you care for each other deeply, you’ve started to question whether you belong together—if you are genuinely compatible. You hope that isn’t the case, but you realize these concerns need to be confronted and resolved for you to progress. You don’t see how you can remain in this relationship under these circumstances. Something has to change—both in yourselves and your relationship overall - you need to grow.

Explore

your pattern as a couple

Each of you carries your personal history into this relationship. You may have developed certain thoughts or behaviors that feel normal to you, but these can be hurtful or harmful if not acknowledged. I can assist you in unpacking and processing these underlying issues.

understand

your personality

You’ll learn how to ask for what you want and need, and how to listen when your partner is the one asking. It won’t be about trying to change the other person, but instead, about acknowledging your role in the relationship and taking steps to do your part.

create

new paths to Connection

Real change only happens when both parties are willing to do real work—and I believe your relationship is worth working for.

because, At the end of the day:

investing in your wellbeing can change everything.

  • During the first few sessions, we will talk about the struggles that bring you to therapy, your history, and define your goals. I use a combination or attachment, biological/neurological, and behavioral techniques to reduce conflict and improve communication and connection.

As a therapist, I have a real-life, practical, and straightforward approach. This means I will be actively involved in our sessions, helping you to achieve your goals

  • How long you stay in therapy depends on your needs as a couple. Research indicates that many clients notice improvement in 12 to 15 sessions, which I expect for you as well. Some couples feel better enough to finish therapy in that time, while others enjoy it and continue as their lives change. My goal is to help you reach your goals quickly.

  • It’s not uncommon for one partner to seek therapy before the other is ready to join. But that doesn't mean we can’t work to improve your relationship. I’m happy to meet with you individually in the meantime. We will work to identify your individual goals, and find strategies to improve your relationship until your partner is ready to join.

  • Reach out to me and schedule a free phone consultation. Let’s determine if I’m the right fit for you.
